BACKGROUND Since 1989 Security and Standards Consultancy has been providing professional consultancy service in Information Technology (IT), with special emphases placed on consultancy services in IT Security and Standards. PROFESSIONAL STAFF John Ross has over 40 years experience in IT, working most recently for government and commercial clients on IT-Architectures, e-Delivery, IT Standards and IT Security. He is an internationally recognised expert in the field of IT security and Standards. John has many years of hands-on technical and implementation experience, including as a senior technical consultant to the Cabinet Office on eGovernment delivery and to the Ministry of Justice (formally the Department of Constitutional Affairs) on e-voting systems. John has worked on the development and implementation of a number of projects for the UK and other Governments, including SOA, e-service delivery and e-voting projects. He has played a major role in the development and specification of security standards in the UK, Europe and Internationally. Assignments include senior technical support to the eGU in the Cabinet Office (CO) for UK e-GIF set of specifications and for the MOJ, DCA and ODPM on e-voting pilot procurements and Quality Assurance. He has been the editor of several European and International standards, including ISO, ITU-T, IETF, OASIS and ETSI standards, particularly in the area of security and electronic signatures. He is an editor of the OASIS Electronic Mark-up Language (EML) and Digital Signature Services (DSS) specifications. John Ross major client list includes, Cabinet Office, Office of the e-Envoy, Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Department of Constitutional Affairs (DCA), Office Of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), ETSI, UK MOD, NATO, European Commission, CCTA, Other UK Government Departments, BT, SWIFT, and various private companies. John has project managed many projects in the last 30 years, he has produced, and lectures on, many IT courses. He has good management skills, including communications and presentation skills.
